PACK CLEANING
We recommend wiping your pack with a damp cloth to remove dirt. If the pack is extremely dirty and needs a deeper cleaning, soak it in cool or warm water with a very mild soap. Rinse the pack thoroughly with cool water. If soap residue remains in the fabric, it may create suds if exposed to water or sweat.

DO NOT wash your pack in a washing machine. Machine washing may damage the pack or affect the integrity of the fabric and fasteners, and will void the Got Your Bak™ Guarantee.

RESERVOIR CLEANING
The best way to care for your reservoir is to clean and dry it after every use, especially if you fill the reservoir with anything other than water. However, if a reservoir has not been cleaned after every use, and mold or discoloration develops:

1. Use hot water and a CamelBak Cleaning Tablet. Or use 2 tablespoons of baking soda or bleach instead of CamelBak Cleaning Tab. Mix the solution inside your reservoir and elevate the reservoir above the tube and Big Bite Valve. Pinch the bite valve, allowing the solution to flow into the drink tube and fill the bite valve.

2. Let the reservoir and cleaning solution sit in the reservoir and drink tube for about 30 minutes.

3. Wash the reservoir with hot water and mild soap. Be sure to completely rinse away the cleaning solution in the reservoir and drink tube before using again. You can also use CamelBak brushes from our Cleaning Kit to scrub your reservoir and drink tube. Brushes are the best way to ensure you are scrubbing all of the areas of the reservoir clean.

4. Once the reservoir is clean, be sure to air dry overnight so no moisture is trapped inside, which can cause mold to grow.

These steps will make your reservoir safe for use. If there are still spots left behind, these are permanent mold stains that may not be removable. However, your reservoir is still safe and usable after you’ve cleaned it.

Comments about CamelBak Ultra LR™ Vest:

I have owned a vest from another manufacturer for a long time, but now that I have the Ultra LR, I don't think that other vest will get used much in the future. After wearing the Ultra LR on two long runs, I can say this:
            * the vest is fully adjustable (I am 5.11' tall)
            * even when fully filled, I barely feel the weight of the reservoir on my shoulders
            * lots of storage space: I can easily carry two large bottles of goo, cell phone, keys, space blanket, and a water-proof first-aid kit - and still have room to spare!
            * you can route the water tube multiple ways

Comments about CamelBak Ultra LR™ Vest:

I am a big loyal fan of Camelbak. Love their bags A LOT. This one, however, fell a little short for me.
First use: 10.20 mile hike on my town's bike trails and around our man made lake. Temp was 87 with full sun, very good for my area in August
            Pros
            1. Even with my lower back issues, it felt great. not a lot of pressure or pulling on my back
            2. Once adjusted, fit wonderfully and stayed put (across my chest and over my shoulders. see the con about my stomach below)
            3. Once adjusted, it did not move much, and when it did, was easy to cinch up
            4. Took a lot of the pressure of my shoulders and arms, leaving me with very little swelling (a problem I have been having with other packs)
            5. pockets seemed good and surprisingly there were a lot of options

            Cons
            1. If I had purchased this at the beginning of my weight loss endeavor, I would not be able to fit it. I am between 245 and 250 and have a nice sized chest. While the chest part fit pretty well, the waist part was at the end of the straps and rode up my belly, pulling my shirt with it.
            2. It can be hot on your back. I was sweating so much on my back, I thought I had a leak.
            3. It is not insulated. Warm water only wets your mouth and throat. Cool water quenches your thirst on a hot day. This one change could have gotten 5 stars from me
            4. It took me a minute to figure out how to adjust the shoulder straps with the Velcro. The Velcro does not allow for on the fly adjustments. You have to be satisfied with your positioning or be ready to to stop in your tracks to may adjustments in the field. Not good if you are racing.

Overall, even with the cons, I did like this bag and would recommend it to others. The true test will come when used at its intended event.

Comments about CamelBak Ultra LR™ Vest:

I got this new pack just in time for this years Big Sur Marathon. I saw the forecast was going to be warm and knew I could use all the capacity I could get.

I did not have a chance to test it out prior to the run so I was a little nervous about trying something new on a run of this length. Thankfully I was plesently suprised. No chaffing, very little pack movement, no breathing restriction, enought room for my shell jacket/food/etc, and most importantly for big sur plenty of water.

Two notes 1). The retention straps for the front pockets kept slipping loose with a full water bottle(3/4 full was no issue)and 2)It helps to keep the load in the front pockets balanced so the pack does not pull to one side.
