Pursuit™ 24 LR

Holds all the essentials required for a day hike including maps, compass and more.Cargo packs designed with hydration at the core. Separate compartments keep cargo organized and water insulated.Designed specifically for the equipment and hydration needs of hikers and alpine adventurers.A specific carry point keeps trekking poles handy, yet safely out of the way when not in use.

It's not just the weight of your pack—it's how you carry it. The Pursuit™ keeps the weight (and the sweat) off your back thanks to a lumbar reservoir and suspended mesh back panels.

The reservoir stores your hydration near your hips for greater stability on the trail, and the mesh NV panels keep your back cool and ventilated no matter how rugged the climb. That way, you can forget about your load and focus on the trail ahead.

PACK CLEANING
We recommend wiping your pack with a damp cloth to remove dirt. If the pack is extremely dirty and needs a deeper cleaning, soak it in cool or warm water with a very mild soap. Rinse the pack thoroughly with cool water. If soap residue remains in the fabric, it may create suds if exposed to water or sweat.

DO NOT wash your pack in a washing machine. Machine washing may damage the pack or affect the integrity of the fabric and fasteners, and will void the Got Your Bak™ Guarantee.

RESERVOIR CLEANING
The best way to care for your reservoir is to clean and dry it after every use, especially if you fill the reservoir with anything other than water. However, if a reservoir has not been cleaned after every use, and mold or discoloration develops:

1. Use hot water and a CamelBak Cleaning Tablet. Or use 2 tablespoons of baking soda or bleach instead of CamelBak Cleaning Tab. Mix the solution inside your reservoir and elevate the reservoir above the tube and Big Bite Valve. Pinch the bite valve, allowing the solution to flow into the drink tube and fill the bite valve.

2. Let the reservoir and cleaning solution sit in the reservoir and drink tube for about 30 minutes.

3. Wash the reservoir with hot water and mild soap. Be sure to completely rinse away the cleaning solution in the reservoir and drink tube before using again. You can also use CamelBak brushes from our Cleaning Kit to scrub your reservoir and drink tube. Brushes are the best way to ensure you are scrubbing all of the areas of the reservoir clean.

4. Once the reservoir is clean, be sure to air dry overnight so no moisture is trapped inside, which can cause mold to grow.

These steps will make your reservoir safe for use. If there are still spots left behind, these are permanent mold stains that may not be removable. However, your reservoir is still safe and usable after you’ve cleaned it.

Comments about CamelBak Pursuit™ 24 LR:

Positives: the bright colors are very visible when trying to spot others through the woods and I don't have a reason to be in a parade so please don't include that nonsense.

Negatives: waist strap pockets are inadequate. There should be a zippered pocket on each side which are very generous in size. Water flow sometimes becomes very difficult and seems to be caused by back wall of the bladder being pushed against the valve area. Camelback should consider providing a relief area so this can't happen.

I'm concerned the zippers may be wimpy but time will tell.

Comments about CamelBak Pursuit™ 24 LR:

first things first...the picture is a little misleading. the blue pack has green straps everywhere not gray. i'm not disappointed, just making sure people know that.

i was also a little wary about buying this one because there's not a lot of information about it, and what little information there was, tended to contradict what was on the website. i had lots of questions that i've asked and gotten pretty good answers back from the crew at camelbak. (kudos to you guys for your responsiveness, even if the answers kinda contradicted the website).

be that as it may, this is a solid pack. the fabric is strong and looks like it'll take a beating. the direction of the pull for the hip belt is handy, and surprisingly overlooked by a lot of people. lots of adjustability. easily fits a days worth of gear and food.

the only thing i wish it had was the magnetic tube trap, because that's kind of a cool feature. (i did end up buying it separate, but there aren't too many places to put it, so it's on the sternum strap for now).

lower lumbar reservoir is a great idea. completely changes how you carry the weight, even with a pack full of gear.

and finally the open mesh back panel. i'm kinda cautious of it because i don't want to snag it on anything. i just have a fear that one tear or rip will be its demise, but hopefully not. it does, however provide great air flow and sweat does actually evaporate quite fast under there.

hope this review helps anyone who's on the fence.
