BEFORE USING THE GROOVE
Give your Fresh™ Filter a quick 15-second rinse the first time you use it to dislodge any harmless, loose particles of carbon, then set it aside, as no additional cleaning is recommended.

If you accidentally run your filter through the dishwasher, discard and replace it with a new filter.

BEFORE CLEANING THE GROOVE
Remove the carbon filter as it is not dishwasher safe.

CLEANING THE GROOVE
The bottle, bite valve, straw and lid can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher or by hand with warm, soapy water. Pull off the bite valve and straw from the cap. If you like to use a bottle brush, we don’t recommend forcing a brush through the Bite Valve slit. If you have the brush kit, run the small brush through the straw.

For a deeper cleaning, add a drop of mild soap or tablespoon of bleach to a clean glass jar filled with water. Drop the bite valve, straw and cap into the solution, and tightly close the jar’s lid. Shake the mixture around for 30 seconds, and then let the parts soak for about 15 minutes. Rinse and shake dry.

To re-assemble the lid:
Flip the stem collar (the component the bite valve attached to originally) to the open position. Orient the bite valve so the finger tab points towards the front of the cap. Push the bite valve firmly onto the stem collar. Press the straw back into place on the bottom of the lid. Ensure the straw covers the notches completely.

FAQ

The bite valve on my new bottle doesn't have a slit (opening) and I can't drink from it
The self-sealing silicone can sometimes seal tightly before first use. To open, squeeze the bite valve and twist & roll between your fingertips. This should loosen the seal and open it up for drinking. If you're still experiencing problems, please request a new bite valve using our Warranty Parts Form.

Can I put hot water in my CamelBak® Groove®?
Warm water in your CamelBak® Groove® is just fine, NOT boiling water (maximum temperature: 100 degrees Fahrenheit). Please be aware that the experience will be similar to drinking hot liquid through a straw, so use caution.

Can I put ice in my CamelBak® Groove®?
Yes. Feel free to fill the bottle with ice, but be sure to leave enough room in the bottle for the filter housing and tube assembly when the cap is replaced.

Can a child use the CamelBak® Groove®?
Children age 5 and under should not use the CamelBak® Groove®. The Bite Valve could become dislodged and pose a choking risk.

Can I use CamelBak® Groove® when I’m traveling abroad?
Only use the CamelBak® Groove® with potable tap water. The Fresh™ Filter contained in your CamelBak® Groove® does not remove harmful microscopic pathogens that may be contained in tap water outside of the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Can I use CamelBak® Groove® when I’m hiking in the back country?
Only use the CamelBak® Groove® with potable tap water. The Fresh™ Filter contained in your CamelBak® Groove® is not a purifier and not certified to be effective against bacteria, cysts or viruses.

Can I use the CamelBak® Groove® in high-altitude/ low-pressure environments? (i.e. airplanes, mountain altitudes, etc)
Yes, but with extra care. Always keep the bottle right side up and the bite valve in the closed position. Remove the straw for additional protection. Expect a bit of "spurt" during the first sip.

Is the CamelBak® Groove® microwave safe?
Feel free to use the CamelBak Groove® to warm up liquids (i.e., up to a minute). Do NOT microwave with the cap (or straw or filter) in place as it contains metal screws that are not microwave safe.

What are the maximum temperatures (freezing / boiling) that the CamelBak® Groove® can withstand?
The CamelBak® Groove® can withstand being filled with water ranging in temperature from 34 - 100 degrees Fahrenheit. We do NOT recommend freezing water inside the bottle or boiling it. Extremely hot fluids can damage your CamelBak® Groove®.

What if I accidentally washed my Fresh™ Filter in the dishwasher?
If you accidentally wash your Fresh™ Filter in the dishwasher, we recommend that you discard it and place a new Fresh™ Filter in your bottle.

This is my favorite bottle to pack, especially on a plane trip. I can get through security and fill up at any faucet in the airport--and get the great taste of freshly filtered water. No money wasted on bottled water and not another disposable bottle sent to an overseas recycling plant.

      Comments about CamelBak Groove® .75L:

First let me start by saying that this water bottle is absolutely great! I loved it from the moment that I got it! Between the capacity and the fact that I could drink from it without having to tip it up this water bottle is absolutely wonderful. However, not maybe more than six months after getting it my bottle developed a horrible flaw! It had a leak! I have done everything that I know to fix it and yet it still leaks somewhere in the cap. Now whenever I drink from it it is like drinking from a straw that has a hole in it. I no longer get the good strong purely water no air flow, that it had when I first got it, and to the best of my knowledge I have only used it normally. I do not believe that I have used it in anyway abnormally. Other than this simple problem it is a great water bottle. However, if I can not get this problem resolved I will probably buy a different water bottle and not use my Camelbak anymore or buy there products. Hopefully somebody at Camelbak will read this and be able to help me otherwise they will probably lose my business.
Have a great day and GOD bless,
      David

      Comments about CamelBak Groove® .75L:

I got this bottle to encourage myself to drink more water. I am constantly dehydrated. The filter seemed to make a slight difference in the taste of the water, though it did not filter as much of the chlorine out as the filter pitcher I keep in my fridge, for instance. Still, I was happy for the increased water I was drinking until I had to wash the bottle and lost the straw. I've been looking all over the web and even on Camelbak's own website and there is no replacement available You can replace the filters, bite valves, and even lids, but not the straw. What is up with that? Other of Camelbak's bottles have replacement straws, but they are not specifically designed to hold a filter, so they are not as fat at the top and, consequently, don't fit this particular lid. I do not know what to do with my bottle now and I don't think I got my money's worth out of this expensive bottle.

Followed all of the setup directions to a T, brought the bottle to my spin class and there found out that the bite valve was not working. Thank goodness I discovered this before the class started so I could purchase a bottle of water as a replacement. Once home, I had to come to this site and read these comments to see that at least one other customer has had the same problem. There is no hole in the valve, nor does the packaging or leaflet say anything about needing to puncture the silicone yourself. I have 2 other Camelback water bottles with bite valves and have never had to do this with those. What gives? Not cool.

          Comments about CamelBak Groove® .75L:

I got this smaller bottle to take with me to places where I can't carry filtered water. It fits easily in my purse, and stays closed on top. It does sweat, however, so inside my purse sometimes gets wet from the condensation. The worst part, though, is you have to use a LOT of suction to suck the water through the straw-filter. I have sensitive teeth, and this is sometimes not so comfortable for me. I still use my old better bottle a lot because of this. The water does taste good, though, if you can suck it up!

          Comments about CamelBak Groove® .75L:

I use this bottle everyday at work as we have an abundance of unfiltered water fountains. Overall, I love the bottle, but after just three months, the valve that connects the cap to the bottle has cracked. This reduces the suction, produces tons of bubbles, and makes drinking very noisy. Worst of all, Camelbak doesn't sell replacement caps for this bottle.

I used it for school where water fountains are abundant...so not much reason to complain about the volume. The rubber mouth can get dirty sometimes like when I dropped it on the floor...unluckily it hit the mouth. The straw can sometimes get loose,it is annoying when you try to suck the water up bt it fails, so u hav to open the top and tighten it. It happens sometimes but not everytime...other than that this is a great bottle...I find it portable as I bring it to shopping malls, libraries and school..GREAT PRODUCT!!!

            Comments about CamelBak Groove® .75L:

My wife bought this for me for Christmas. Its a great little bottle. I have dropped it multiple times (concrete, asphalt, stairs)and it only got a few small scratches. I love the mini filter. It helps make the water at work more bearable. It is easy to change the filter when that time comes. I do wish it would hold more water, or at least there were different volume sized bottles. I have run into an issue that can't be fixed though. There is a bendable tube that connects the inside filter mount to the bite valve. This tube has started to leak air when I try to drink the water out of the bottle. This may not seem bad, but you suck in a lot of air this way. Gives your stomach issues. There is no replacement for this part. The only solution is to buy a new bottle....Over all, great product.
