BEFORE USING THE GROOVE
Give your Fresh™ Filter a quick 15-second rinse the first time you use it to dislodge any harmless, loose particles of carbon, then set it aside, as no additional cleaning is recommended.

If you accidentally run your filter through the dishwasher, discard and replace it with a new filter.

BEFORE CLEANING THE GROOVE
Remove the carbon filter as it is not dishwasher safe.

CLEANING THE GROOVE
The bottle, bite valve, straw and lid can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher or by hand with warm, soapy water. Pull off the bite valve and straw from the cap. If you like to use a bottle brush, we don’t recommend forcing a brush through the Bite Valve slit. If you have the brush kit, run the small brush through the straw.

For a deeper cleaning, add a drop of mild soap or tablespoon of bleach to a clean glass jar filled with water. Drop the bite valve, straw and cap into the solution, and tightly close the jar’s lid. Shake the mixture around for 30 seconds, and then let the parts soak for about 15 minutes. Rinse and shake dry.

To re-assemble the lid:
Flip the stem collar (the component the bite valve attached to originally) to the open position. Orient the bite valve so the finger tab points towards the front of the cap. Push the bite valve firmly onto the stem collar. Press the straw back into place on the bottom of the lid. Ensure the straw covers the notches completely.

FAQ

The bite valve on my new bottle doesn't have a slit (opening) and I can't drink from it
The self-sealing silicone can sometimes seal tightly before first use. To open, squeeze the bite valve and twist & roll between your fingertips. This should loosen the seal and open it up for drinking. If you're still experiencing problems, please request a new bite valve using our Warranty Parts Form.

Can I put hot water in my CamelBak® Groove®?
Warm water in your CamelBak® Groove® is just fine, NOT boiling water (maximum temperature: 100 degrees Fahrenheit). Please be aware that the experience will be similar to drinking hot liquid through a straw, so use caution.

Can I put ice in my CamelBak® Groove®?
Yes. Feel free to fill the bottle with ice, but be sure to leave enough room in the bottle for the filter housing and tube assembly when the cap is replaced.

Can a child use the CamelBak® Groove®?
Children age 5 and under should not use the CamelBak® Groove®. The Bite Valve could become dislodged and pose a choking risk.

Can I use CamelBak® Groove® when I’m traveling abroad?
Only use the CamelBak® Groove® with potable tap water. The Fresh™ Filter contained in your CamelBak® Groove® does not remove harmful microscopic pathogens that may be contained in tap water outside of the US, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Can I use CamelBak® Groove® when I’m hiking in the back country?
Only use the CamelBak® Groove® with potable tap water. The Fresh™ Filter contained in your CamelBak® Groove® is not a purifier and not certified to be effective against bacteria, cysts or viruses.

Can I use the CamelBak® Groove® in high-altitude/ low-pressure environments? (i.e. airplanes, mountain altitudes, etc)
Yes, but with extra care. Always keep the bottle right side up and the bite valve in the closed position. Remove the straw for additional protection. Expect a bit of "spurt" during the first sip.

Is the CamelBak® Groove® microwave safe?
Feel free to use the CamelBak Groove® to warm up liquids (i.e., up to a minute). Do NOT microwave with the cap (or straw or filter) in place as it contains metal screws that are not microwave safe.

What are the maximum temperatures (freezing / boiling) that the CamelBak® Groove® can withstand?
The CamelBak® Groove® can withstand being filled with water ranging in temperature from 34 - 100 degrees Fahrenheit. We do NOT recommend freezing water inside the bottle or boiling it. Extremely hot fluids can damage your CamelBak® Groove®.

What if I accidentally washed my Fresh™ Filter in the dishwasher?
If you accidentally wash your Fresh™ Filter in the dishwasher, we recommend that you discard it and place a new Fresh™ Filter in your bottle.

This is my favorite bottle to pack, especially on a plane trip. I can get through security and fill up at any faucet in the airport--and get the great taste of freshly filtered water. No money wasted on bottled water and not another disposable bottle sent to an overseas recycling plant.

First let me start by saying that this water bottle is absolutely great! I loved it from the moment that I got it! Between the capacity and the fact that I could drink from it without having to tip it up this water bottle is absolutely wonderful. However, not maybe more than six months after getting it my bottle developed a horrible flaw! It had a leak! I have done everything that I know to fix it and yet it still leaks somewhere in the cap. Now whenever I drink from it it is like drinking from a straw that has a hole in it. I no longer get the good strong purely water no air flow, that it had when I first got it, and to the best of my knowledge I have only used it normally. I do not believe that I have used it in anyway abnormally. Other than this simple problem it is a great water bottle. However, if I can not get this problem resolved I will probably buy a different water bottle and not use my Camelbak anymore or buy there products. Hopefully somebody at Camelbak will read this and be able to help me otherwise they will probably lose my business.
Have a great day and GOD bless,
David

Comments about Groove .75L by CamelBak:

I bought this bottle so I could have nice tasting water for college. I ended up buying this bottle and an Eddy bottle with my school's name on it. I cut the straw on the Groove to fit the Eddy so I could use the school bottle with the filtration which I like a lot better.

You need to fix a few things CamelBak:

1. Make an option to have a replacement straw to buy for this bottle if the current one is gone bad.

2. Make the filtration system (cap and staw length) available for the Eddy because college students like me like to have a water bottle with nice tasting water to and school name on it represent their school pride.

3. The loop handle sucks because mine broke and it's too skinny. Also, I don't appreciate the all plastic cap on the Groove. I like the Eddy's cap better since it scratches less.

4. The bite valve is AMAZING technology. But I am a germaphobe and that bite valve gets dust, dirt and bugs on it. So do us a favor and put a cap over it to protect this from happening. I know this would happen, but you shouldn't have to clean it almost everyday to get rid of all those gross germs. Look at what Kor company did. Now that's awesome. I like the opening size on your bottle because it is just enough to get ice into the bottle without struggling whereas Kor makes their opening smaller and harder to get ice in.

5. The temperature stays cold with ice, but when the ice melts, the temperature does not stay retained for long and it would be nice to have it insulated where the temperature can stay cold for hours at a time.

Thank you for the great idea of this water bottle. I love using it for college. I would definitely recommend this bottle, but I LOOK FORWARD TO THESE CHANGES IN THIS BOTTLE IN THE FUTURE.

My teens like these for school, hiking, and mission trips. They like the larger size, the fact it doesn't leak, and use the filter when the drinking water may not taste as good when they are travelling on mission trips.

Comments about Groove .75L by CamelBak:

I have been using the Groove for a good couple years now and am VERY pleased. I have dropped it countless times, hiked and even run with it a few times. I recommend this so highly that this year I'm giving them to my clients as a holiday gift. The filters are super easy to change and last a long time. The 750ml is perfectly sized for me to drink 3-4 bottles every day.

If there are any drawbacks, it's the mouth piece. They need to be pierced manually and fiddled with to create optimal water flow. Also, if the water warms in the straw it can expand and a little will bubble out the mouth piece... but it's only water and dries quickly.

All in all, this is by far the best product I have ever found for staying hydrated while drinking filtered water and NOT creating landfill waste. Yay Groove!

Comments about Groove .75L by CamelBak:

My friend picked this up for me because she knew I wanted a nice water bottle and she had heard Camelbak was good. Not mine. There is NO FILTER even though it was full priced. Also, the top is stupidly designed. You have to take the top off to drink from it and even then it's a tiny hole. I wish I could return it.

Comments about Groove .75L by CamelBak:

Doesn't get rid of the unpleasant chlorine taste in the water at my office. Also, the filter makes it slower and harder to drink. It might work for some but I think the original Eddy would serve me better.

Comments about Groove .75L by CamelBak:

So far I am mostly happy with the product. However thus far I have not changed the filter and am nervous to because it seems very complicated. The only problem I have has with the bottle is that it does leak if you put in even just a little more water above the fill line. I really like that I don't need to hold it up to drink and I am happy with the bitable nozzle.

      Nava Vs Groove

      By Dennis

      from Anaheim, CA

Comments about Groove .75L by CamelBak:

I purchased a Nava and it's the completely opposite for me. The Nava is surrounded by cheap plastic that has already chipped after a drop. Whereas my Groove is going strong even after 4 years. The upside to the Nava is the water flow (due to the design of the filter, downside to the design is it will give 8 gallons less than the groove filter), and cover for the mouthpiece. But durability is not one of them.
I'll be using my Nava for indoors and Groove for Outdoors.

      Summary:
      Groove:
-Pros: Durability, Bite valve, LIFETIME guarantee, more gallons, thinner, and cheaper refill filters.
      -Cons: water flow

      Nava:
-Pros: Cheaper, water flow, mouth piece cover, looks prettier.
-Cons: leaks, cheap plastic, no lifetime guarantee.

      Winner: Groove.
I will end up paying more with the filters on the Nava since the difference is a few bucks.
