FLOW METER AND RESERVOIR CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
The Display Unit may be cleaned with a soft damp cloth only. DO NOT submerge it under water.

Fill the Reservoir with warm water and mild soap, and clean with a Reservoir Brush.

Holding the Reservoir up with the Drink Tube hanging down, squeeze the Bite Valve open and flush the Tube and Fluid Sensor with soap solution.

Empty the remaining soap solution and re-fill the Reservoir with 1 Liter of water.

Add one CamelBak Cleaning Tablet, close fill port, and shake the Reservoir until Tablet is dissolved.

Repeat Step 2, allowing the Tube and Fluid Sensor to fill with cleaning solution.

Let the cleaning solution stand for 5 minutes in the Reservoir and Tube, and then drain.

Repeat Step 2, thoroughly rinsing the Reservoir, Tube and Fluid Sensor with clean water.

Refill the Reservoir for drinking, or dry completely for storage. If storing the unit, be sure to suck out any remaining clean water from the Tube and Fluid Sensor.

Comments about CamelBak Flow Meter™:

This is a very worth while addition to a CamelBak pack. Especially riding off road in hot or very hot conditions to ensure you maintain adequate hydration. Price is a no brainer. Yes - buy it.

By the way, someone here has posted an issue with the display keeps zeroing out but the battery must be okay because the display shows. I had the same issue but when I installed a fresh battery, it rectified the problem. It must be an issue when the overall % of battery power drops below a certain level. If you get this zeroing effect on yours, it means it is time to change the battery. Hope this helps?

      Comments about CamelBak Flow Meter™:

I'd like to start by saying I dislike seeing the one bad review amongst a group of good ones. That makes things confusing for potential buyers. However, that being said this product provides an excellent way to
manage your hourly fluid consumption. In the world of ultra endurance competition everyone know that the balance of fluid / electrolyte / fuel is of the utmost importance.

I believe this is a good product. I used mine through several races during the 2012 year after purchasing it from REI in late 2011. In the last couple of months of use the flow meter began zeroing itself out during my rides or events. Specifically, sometime during an event or a ride the meter would go from whatever I had consumed so far to 0 ounces. It behaved the same as if you took the battery out and reinserted it.

So I tried to fix it by adjusting the battery contact springs to provide better contact with the battery, but to the problem persisted. Well frustration in the product continued to build as whatever I did to assist the meter with maintaining battery contact failed and the unit ALWAYS zeroed itself out during my rides. I never bumped it or slammed it to the ground, but it always zeroed itself out. Inherently, my method of tracking hourly fluid consumption failed. I really hate equipment that fails on me...

Finally, it didn't appear to be a dead battery issue since the readout always worked. It does save power by going into a sleep mode when not in use. The battery door is of a bad design, in that relies only on friction to keep it in place...

Not a bad product, just not ruggedly executed. Camelbak, please improve this product!

Really handy product. Does what it is advertised to do. No complaints at all. It's not really something to write an in depth review on. But, it's worth it.

      The Flow Meter works ...

      Comments about CamelBak Flow Meter™:

The Flow Meter works great, when riding or hiking. Helps me manage my water intake. This along with the Trip meter on my Cycle Computer lets me estimate roughly how much water have for a given distance. Seemed gimmicky at first but it works and is a lot easier than trying to guess how much water is left in the pack. I like it, it is a neat device that offers some piece of mind, is user friendly and adaptable to different Reservoirs. friendly. I recommended it to friends and family.
