PACK CLEANING
We recommend wiping your pack with a damp cloth to remove dirt. If the pack is extremely dirty and needs a deeper cleaning, soak it in cool or warm water with a very mild soap. Rinse the pack thoroughly with cool water. If soap residue remains in the fabric, it may create suds if exposed to water or sweat.

DO NOT wash your pack in a washing machine. Machine washing may damage the pack or affect the integrity of the fabric and fasteners, and will void the Got Your Bak™ Guarantee.

RESERVOIR CLEANING
The best way to care for your reservoir is to clean and dry it after every use, especially if you fill the reservoir with anything other than water. However, if a reservoir has not been cleaned after every use, and mold or discoloration develops:

  1. Use hot water and a CamelBak Cleaning Tablet. Or use 2 tablespoons of baking soda or bleach instead of CamelBak Cleaning Tab. Mix the solution inside your reservoir and elevate the reservoir above the tube and Big Bite Valve. Pinch the bite valve, allowing the solution to flow into the drink tube and fill the bite valve.
  2. Let the reservoir and cleaning solution sit in the reservoir and drink tube for about 30 minutes.
  3. Wash the reservoir with hot water and mild soap. Be sure to completely rinse away the cleaning solution in the reservoir and drink tube before using again. You can also use CamelBak brushes from our Cleaning Kit to scrub your reservoir and drink tube. Brushes are the best way to ensure you are scrubbing all of the areas of the reservoir clean.
  4. Once the reservoir is clean, be sure to air dry overnight so no moisture is trapped inside, which can cause mold to grow.

These steps will make your reservoir safe for use. If there are still spots left behind, these are permanent mold stains that may not be removable. However, your reservoir is still safe and usable after you’ve cleaned it.

Secondly, Get the pack set low so that the straps fit around your hip bones. If they are too high around your stomach, it's going to bounce and flop all over the place and you will never get it tight.

I run alot of miles with mine, never a problem. I'll be doing my second marathon with it in Jan 2014.

You do have to do adjustments along the way though. the water will change the shape of the pack as you use it and you 'will' have to adjust both the cinch and waist straps. That said, nothing more than a quick tug has sorted it out.

Always loosen the cinch straps before adjusting waist strap.

I just bought a pair of these as gifts for fellow runners and they had the same compaints till I showed them how to use the product. Yesterdays 16 miler went off without a hitch.

I bought this Camelback for biking because it was one of the few less than $100! It rests on my hips while I'm seated so for me, it does not slip down except when I walk. The belt buckles are ill-conceived. The tube is a bit short and while pedaling, I have to look down to sip. Not convenient and a bit dangerous too. The zippers are impossible to operate unless the pack is turned toward the front of me. The liquid quickly heats up IN the tube so the first 3 sips are hot! The little clip to hold the mouthpiece to your shirt is ill-engineered and really awkward. It's hard to clean and especially to dry the pouch. I have to insert 2 spring-loaded prongs to keep the pouch 'opened' while it air-dries.

        Comments about CamelBak FlashFlo LR™:

I've used this one for 5 or 6 years. I much prefer this to a vest type hydration system.

IF you adjust it properly it is much less obtrusive to the run than a vest.

It doesn't interfere with arm swing at all.
It doesn't exacerbate nipple rub (like some vests do)

Those who have had it jostle around, I would say the straps weren't adjusted properly. This can fit as snugly as a back brace (which it doubles effectively as for those jarring downhill trail runs).

It may not be enough water for a full marathon, but certainly is good in the 15-20 mile range.

I bought this for running and have found it totally unusable. It jiggles around too much no matter how I adjust the various straps, and how low I wear it. While I have had various Camelbak products in the past which have worked well, I have wasted my money on this one. I have gone back to water bottles on a belt which work fine.

                Comments about CamelBak FlashFlo LR™:

Boy, most of you have given this pack a bad rap! I like it! I think it is suited for walks and hikes not running. The short tube issue is easily solved by switching the side of the pack the tube comes out of. Bring it up and out of the right side hole in the pack and there is plenty of hose. the hose clip threw me for a while until I almost broke it and discovered it hinges open. I wish the quick release hose was standard on this one so the cleaning kit would work with the hanger to drain and dry the bladder bag. i'm going to get the insulated tube wrapper to see if the water stays cooler longer in the tube. I did have to adjust the belt a few times but it wasn't too annoying, it would be a problem for a runner though.

Unfortunately this doesn't live upto its suggested use, that being running.
I have run with it twice the first I was having to adjust the belt about every 5 - 10 seconds. I thought I would give it one more try and the same result again and ended up running with it over my shoulder. I am very disappointed with it, it promised a lot.

It definitely does not work for me. Impossible to run with it as the straps don't stay tight and the bag starts bouncing around making the run a disaster. I am a small person and the tube length is fine, but the bag is bulky, huge and very uncomfortable. So the proportions are absurd! Either the bag is too bulky or the straps too long... and they come lose.
MAYBE for walking but only if you are patient enough to keep pulling straps all the time to tight it.
I bought it because I had tried an older version of this bag and it was so amazing that my expectations were very high, I thought they would have improved it but nope, they ruined it.
VERY SAD AND DISAPPOINTING! It is not worth half the price you have to pay for it.

I own the marathoner vest, which I love for long runs; but I wanted something in between the vest and a water bottle for shorter runs.

I wore this pack for the first time on a 12 mile run. I hated it with the first step! The tubing is way too short - I had to hunch over to take a drink. It bounced all over the place. The belt does not lock once it is adjusted to size, so as I ran, it worked its way loose and I had to tighten it every few hundred yards. By mile 2, I was carrying it over my shoulder, and by mile 4, I had ditched it on the side of the road to be picked up later. Or not - at that point I didn't care if I ever saw it again!

I rarely write product reviews; but I was so disappointed with this pack, because I own multiple CamelBak products and love them all, and was expecting a similar performance from this one

There are several flaws to this version from the previous one that make it lame to use. I have used the prior version of this and this version stinks.

                                - The tube length is too short! I am an average build and the I could barely get the tube to reach my mouth.

                                - The waist straps are too smooth. So smooth in fact that, while I run, they keep coming loose. I could solve this by tying them in a knot, but the length of the straps was shortened to the point that this is quite difficult without having difficulty breathing.

                                - The storage pocket in the back used to have a vertical zipper. This was nice as it allowed for the ability to get items out while I continued to run. Now, I have to stop and spin the pack around to my front to get anything out of it.

                                - The "clip" that is supposed to be used for easy access to the drinking tube is not so "easy" to use at all. It is worthless and difficult to manipulate.

This new design is not an improvement
