CLEANING THE EDDY INSULATED The eddy Insulated bottle can be easily cleaned with a bottle brush using warm water and mild soap.

CLEANING THE LID The bite valve, straw and lid can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher or by hand with warm, soapy water. Pull off the bite valve and straw from the cap. If you like to use a bottle brush, we don’t recommend forcing a brush through the Bite Valve slit. If you have the brush kit, run the small brush through the straw.

For a deeper cleaning, add a drop of mild soap or tablespoon of bleach to a clean glass jar filled with water. Drop the bite valve, straw and cap into the solution, and tightly close the jar’s lid. Shake the mixture around for 30 seconds, and then let the parts soak for about 15 minutes. Rinse and shake dry.

TO RE-ASSEMBLE THE LID Flip the stem collar (the component the bite valve attached to originally) to the open position. Orient the bite valve so the finger tab points towards the front of the cap. Push the bite valve firmly onto the stem collar. Press the straw back into place on the bottom of the lid. Ensure the straw covers the notches completely.

I thought this insulated bottle would solve all my problems but I love it anyway (turns out I am too demanding). This bottle does not keep water/ice cool any longer than a disposable water bottle. I felt like the bottle was empty after I took one big sip so it is best used indoor where you can refill it often. 600ml is not a whole lot. The best thing about this bottle is the no condensation on the outside. Other bottles will have a puddle of "sweat" under the bottle but this one is safe to put on paper. I say it's fun to use because the rubber opening is soft and smooth and it causes me to drink more which is good

After using my standard Camelbak everyday for 4 years, my husband surprised me with this one! I never had an issue with my old camelbak (even though I used it everyday, traveled with it, dropped it, etc). After using this eddy for just a few months, it started leaking badly. I would make sure that the lid was screwed on tightly, put it in my bag (completely upright) and half the water would leak out leaving my bag soaked. Recently, when I have picked it up off the table to take a drink it will spew water all over me at the exact moment I bite down on the mouthpiece. I think the issue may be in the cap or under the mouthpiece. Sadly, I think I may have to buy another standard.

      Comments about CamelBak eddy™ Insulated:

I have owned two of these waterbottles. The first I lost and immediately replaced with another Eddy. These are great waterbottles. As some have mentioned, the mouthpiece can develop mold/debris, but if you clean it, it's no problem.

I purchased this water bottle after being a long time fan and owner of several other Camelbak products. My husband and I backpack during most of the year and have never had anything poor to say about this brand until I purchased this water bottle. It leaks when you fill it up and it leaks when you lift to sip. Don't purchase this water bottle unless you want to win a wet t-shirt contest!

I purchased the insulated eddy for the purpose of not having to deal with the condensation. Waste. Sweats all over even inside. Go with the regular eddy, extra oz for less $

                Comments about CamelBak eddy™ Insulated:

I got this water bottle a while ago and I love it. Although I do wash it at least once a week yet the part inside the lid that's not replaceable grew mold and I can't get it out. The water bottle it self is great I've droped a lot and has never broken and although if tipped in it's side of can leak but not always. Also It never sweats which is perfect because I put it in my backpack for class and my books or laptop won't get wet. Best water bottle ever however I will need to get a new on because of the mold but it's worth it. If it does grow mold again though I may have to rethink

I use this bottle everyday, and I mostly love it. It keeps your drink cool and the condensation is less than a non-insulated bottle... but it grows mold (like crazy) inside the mouth piece and the non-removable pieces inside the cap. I have to wash it constantly with a pipe cleaner to get into the small spaces, sanitize it in the dishwasher and soak it in Clorox at least once a month just to keep up with it. The mouth piece wears out quickly as well. Like I said, I love the bottle, I hate the mold. Wish they would re-design.

I bought one for me, and 2 more for my daughters. I like the concept. It is mostly leak-proof, but will leak if shaken upside down (like when shaking it to disolve drink powder into water). HOWEVER... The parts on the cap grow mold and mildew no matter how often I wash them or soak them in bleach-water. This would not be horrible if it was only the bite valve and straw (for which you can purchase replacement parts at a reasonable price), but it is also the internal flexible clear straw (the one inside the cap that creates the channel from the straw to the bite valve), and the underside of the little round seal on the top of the inside of the cap that regulates the air pressure inside the bottle. I really like Camelback products and am considering getting an easier to clean model that's still spill resistant for everyday use and saving my Eddy for when I'm in the car and want something that's spill-resistant and don't have to tip back.

I love my Camelbak. I use it daily, both when I'm at home and when I'm out and about on the college campus. I keep it in my bag (along with my expensive schoolbooks) and don't have to worry about it leaking. Unfortunately, I've had to replace lids/mouthpieces pretty often, but still. I love my Camelbak. I'm never going to be able to go back to a "normal" waterbottle.

We love Camelbak and have been using their bottles for years, the mouthpiece on my previous one broke so I was looking at getting a replacement and saw they had just redesigned the lids/mouthpieces so I figured I'd try it out, BIG mistake...

First off, the bite valve unit "broke" only a few days after I received it and would never close properly again so leakage was a constant thing, second I'm not sure what all they changed but this thing grows mold like its life depends on it, I have to scrub out the bite valve and lid everyday, the last time I washed it I was looking down thru the plastic piece that the bite valve attaches too and saw mold growing in there too, cleaned it out and it was STILL there, upon further inspection I found it was growing in between the rubber piece that runs thru the lid and the plastic, this is not a piece that can be removed for cleaning or otherwise so I just threw the whole thing away, will be buying a Klean Kanteen bottle as a replacement, it's unfortunate because we never had these problems before the redesign, hopefully they look into it and fix the problem.

(Side note: nothing was ever put into the bottle other than filtered water)
