CLEANING THE EDDY INSULATED The eddy Insulated bottle can be easily cleaned with a bottle brush using warm water and mild soap.

CLEANING THE LID The bite valve, straw and lid can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher or by hand with warm, soapy water. Pull off the bite valve and straw from the cap. If you like to use a bottle brush, we don’t recommend forcing a brush through the Bite Valve slit. If you have the brush kit, run the small brush through the straw.

For a deeper cleaning, add a drop of mild soap or tablespoon of bleach to a clean glass jar filled with water. Drop the bite valve, straw and cap into the solution, and tightly close the jar’s lid. Shake the mixture around for 30 seconds, and then let the parts soak for about 15 minutes. Rinse and shake dry.

TO RE-ASSEMBLE THE LID Flip the stem collar (the component the bite valve attached to originally) to the open position. Orient the bite valve so the finger tab points towards the front of the cap. Push the bite valve firmly onto the stem collar. Press the straw back into place on the bottom of the lid. Ensure the straw covers the notches completely.

I thought this insulated bottle would solve all my problems but I love it anyway (turns out I am too demanding). This bottle does not keep water/ice cool any longer than a disposable water bottle. I felt like the bottle was empty after I took one big sip so it is best used indoor where you can refill it often. 600ml is not a whole lot. The best thing about this bottle is the no condensation on the outside. Other bottles will have a puddle of "sweat" under the bottle but this one is safe to put on paper. I say it's fun to use because the rubber opening is soft and smooth and it causes me to drink more which is good

After using my standard Camelbak everyday for 4 years, my husband surprised me with this one! I never had an issue with my old camelbak (even though I used it everyday, traveled with it, dropped it, etc). After using this eddy for just a few months, it started leaking badly. I would make sure that the lid was screwed on tightly, put it in my bag (completely upright) and half the water would leak out leaving my bag soaked. Recently, when I have picked it up off the table to take a drink it will spew water all over me at the exact moment I bite down on the mouthpiece. I think the issue may be in the cap or under the mouthpiece. Sadly, I think I may have to buy another standard.

    Comments about CamelBak eddy™ Insulated:

I bought one for me, and 2 more for my daughters. I like the concept. It is mostly leak-proof, but will leak if shaken upside down (like when shaking it to disolve drink powder into water). HOWEVER... The parts on the cap grow mold and mildew no matter how often I wash them or soak them in bleach-water. This would not be horrible if it was only the bite valve and straw (for which you can purchase replacement parts at a reasonable price), but it is also the internal flexible clear straw (the one inside the cap that creates the channel from the straw to the bite valve), and the underside of the little round seal on the top of the inside of the cap that regulates the air pressure inside the bottle. I really like Camelback products and am considering getting an easier to clean model that's still spill resistant for everyday use and saving my Eddy for when I'm in the car and want something that's spill-resistant and don't have to tip back.

I love my Camelbak. I use it daily, both when I'm at home and when I'm out and about on the college campus. I keep it in my bag (along with my expensive schoolbooks) and don't have to worry about it leaking. Unfortunately, I've had to replace lids/mouthpieces pretty often, but still. I love my Camelbak. I'm never going to be able to go back to a "normal" waterbottle.

            Comments about CamelBak eddy™ Insulated:

We love Camelbak and have been using their bottles for years, the mouthpiece on my previous one broke so I was looking at getting a replacement and saw they had just redesigned the lids/mouthpieces so I figured I'd try it out, BIG mistake...

First off, the bite valve unit "broke" only a few days after I received it and would never close properly again so leakage was a constant thing, second I'm not sure what all they changed but this thing grows mold like its life depends on it, I have to scrub out the bite valve and lid everyday, the last time I washed it I was looking down thru the plastic piece that the bite valve attaches too and saw mold growing in there too, cleaned it out and it was STILL there, upon further inspection I found it was growing in between the rubber piece that runs thru the lid and the plastic, this is not a piece that can be removed for cleaning or otherwise so I just threw the whole thing away, will be buying a Klean Kanteen bottle as a replacement, it's unfortunate because we never had these problems before the redesign, hopefully they look into it and fix the problem.

(Side note: nothing was ever put into the bottle other than filtered water)

Used it every week day for almost a year now. But I recently just lost mine. It was reliable but it would leak once a day. I could of gotten a cap since I believe it's free to get. But never got the time. Anyways I recommend it and since I lost it, I'm in a hurry to buy the same one again!

Overall, it's a great water bottle! It's never sweat before, it's never leaked (Only once when i forgot to tighten the lid), it's comfortable to hold and drink out of, and easy to disassemble to clean!

The one con i have is that after a while, the straw tip starts to break down, so including an extra rubber tip would be great when purchasing one of these.

                Comments about CamelBak eddy™ Insulated:

I bought this because of the "insulation" aspect. If I put ice in and then my drink, the ice melts rather quickly as compared to my Hydraflask that will still have ice in it a full six hours later. Downside to the hydraflask is that it does not have a straw.

I bought this water bottle yesterday. I have a bigger one that isn't insulated and it usually sweats a lot and water gets all over my desk. Ergo the reason I bought this one. I love it, it fits perfectly in my hand, and it doesn't leak. I see a lot of reviews from people that say it leaks and I'm shocked. Currently the mouth piece is open and I'm holding it upside-down. Nothing! Upside-down with a little shake. Nothing! I even threw it in my purse today while at the store and it was perfectly safe, I had it laying on my bed and no water spill! I love this product!

Purchased this product because I prefer ice water. This does NOT keep things colder any longer than the regular bottles. I have 2 of the metal insulated and thought the weight of this may be a plus. Boy was I wrong. The metal insulated are awesome. Spend the extra $5...you will get a far superior product and be much happier.

I have several of these bottles. Different styles and colors. I'm a collector of sorts and have one with me constantly. I moved into a new apartment at school and I put it in my dishwasher and it came out a sunken mess. So mad as I had received it as a graduation gift. Fair warning: wash and rinse on your own!

I bought this primarily for when I play golf. I thought it would make an excellent bottle for long rounds when I walk and it fit perfectly in the hydration pocket of my golf bag; boy was I was wrong.

The bottle leaks a "ton". It leaked all over my car interior when it was in my golf bag. It leaked all over my clothes during my golf round, staining and ruining them. I thought it might be the bottle or cap so I got replacement parts; it still leaked and still got all over my clothes before finishing the first hole! The bottle is more upright than on it's side based on how I wear my golf bag.

I wrote to Camelbak and here is what they said:"The Bottle design is SPILL-proof, but certainly not free form slow leaking if left on its side for long periods."

Long periods in my experience are equal to less than a minute and it doesn't say anything about a slow leak if left on its side in the item description. I purchased the item at a sporting good store and wish I read the reviews prior to purchasing.

I would only consider this if you plan on using it for water (colored liquids will stain and leak) and plan on keeping it upright all the time. Neither are reasons that I've purchased the product. Really disappointed and cost me more in damaged clothes and car details than 20 of these things.
