Cleaning Chute™

The bottle, cap, spout cap and tether can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher or by hand with warm, soapy water. Remove the cap, spout cap, and tether from the bottle before washing.

For a deeper cleaning, add a drop of mild soap or tablespoon of bleach to a clean glass jar filled with water. Drop the cap, spout cap, and tether into the solution, and tightly close the jar’s lid. Shake the mixture around for 30 seconds, and then let the parts soak for about 15 minutes. Rinse and shake dry.

FAQ

Can/How do I freeze the CamelBak® Chute™?
You can freeze the bottle but make sure:
1. The bottle is not completely full when you do this (we recommend only 3/4 full to allow for expansion of the water as it freezes to ice).
2. The bottle is right side up

Can I use the CamelBak® Chute™ in high-altitude/ low-pressure environments (i.e. airplanes, mountain altitudes, etc)?
Yes.

Can I put hot liquids in it?
Warm water in your CamelBak® Chute™ is just fine, NOT boiling water. Additionally, we do not recommend boiling the bottle itself.

What happens if I put sports drinks/juice in the CamelBak® Chute™?
Use of any of these drinks in the bottle is fine, but thorough cleaning after each use is recommended.

Can I use with carbonated beverages?
You can use any beverage in the CamelBak® Chute™, but thorough cleaning after each use is recommended.

What max temperature (freezing/boiling water) can the CamelBak® Chute™ withstand?
The CamelBak® Chute™ can withstand being filled with warm water up to 65 ºC/149 ºF or stored in below freezing temperatures.

Is the CamelBak® Chute™ microwave safe?
Feel free to use the CamelBak® Chute™ to warm up liquids (ie. up to a minute), but we don’t recommend cooking your dinner in it.

Does the CamelBak® Chute™ work with back country purifier filters/microfilters?
The CamelBak® Chute™ is compatible with filters that adapt to a 63 mm screw top opening (in other words, it’s compatible with most filters on the market).

Does it hold residual taste?
No, there is no residual taste in the bottle materials, and it’s also stain-resistant. Some sports drinks and other flavored beverages can leave behind residue of flavor oils that could require extra cleaning.

This Camelbak was the present I didn't really ask for that my parents got for me and I really am now a big fan. No funky taste from it being 'new,' I have put D-clip through the ring on the lid when I've been out for a day so it clips onto my bag.
I've found that the strap that keeps the lid connected to the bottle, at the mouthpiece, if I didn't push down hard enough first to push the connector plastic down before twisting the lid on, the threads wouldn't connect and the bottle would leak. However, adjusted my technique and now very rarely happens.
Also, many people have said the cap 'flaps around' when you drink but if you use it as per the video - the cap will sit in the ring opposite the mouthpiece - Problem solved!

Its true that you can be quite harsh on these - I haven't been particularly brutal with mine in the way of dropping it, but it gets knocked a bit whether I bump it against things while it's connected to my bag or throwing it into the back of the car. Minor scuff marks visible on the surface in spots.
Capacity is great and I love the mouthpiece compared straw-like or pop-top bottles.

I really love the bottle - It's my first Camelbak. It's completely Leak-Proof, unlike my previous Nalgene bottle, and really love the colors and design. My only issue is how difficult it is to clip the cap over when you're drinking. It IS NOT EASY! And it's sometimes difficult to get the cap over the the lip of the bottle because of the band that connects the cap and the bottle...
But regardless, I really am happy with the bottle, and I like that it's covered under a great warranty by Camelbak!

Comments about CamelBak Chute™ .75L:

When I first started using the bottle, I could NOT for the life of me figure out how to put the cap in the slot (despite the instructions). All I can say is - keep trying, because at some point, the cap will slide into place and then this will be your favorite water bottle ever. It might be that the plastic needs to wear away a bit for it to fit. Now I love that the cap protects the lip from the outside, and that it can be snapped into place while I drink.

Also, it will not leak if closed properly but it can be hard to tell if it's closed all the way or not. Make sure the both the lid and cap are flush against the bottle and snug, and it is as leak-proof as any other bottle.

Only downside is that the cap/spout can be hard to clean because of the ridges on the insides. I soak mine every now and then in soapy hot water, and that seems to take care of it. I've gone up to two weeks without washing and it's been fine, so the plastic seems resistant to odor (at least when used for water). Overall, very happy with this bottle and would highly recommend it.

Cap gets in the way when drinking. You have to very tightly close the lid when storing unless you want leaks. Almost ruined my macbook on multiple occasions.

              Comments about CamelBak Chute™ .75L:

I bought this from my school's book store. I have an Eddy bottle, but wanted the Chute top. I LOVE IT. It's similar to my Nalgene, except the opening isn't so large. It's easier to carry around day to day. I put it in the mesh pocket of my North Face backpack and clip it in. I like the fact that the top can be clicked into place... It is a little bit hard to get it in just right, But once it's in it's good. I don't know what others' bottles are like, but mine doesn't leak. I make sure to wipe the grips before screwing on the top.

This is a wonderful bottle! I am a student, avid biker, runner, hiker, gym goer and kayaker. This bottle serves its purpose perfectly no matter what my day includes.

I love that its only two twist and the lid is off, as well as, the fact that I know how many ounces of drink I am having per day. I also love the handle that is part of the lid, very easy to hold and convenient location!
