PACK CLEANING
We recommend wiping your pack with a damp cloth to remove dirt. If the pack is extremely dirty and needs a deeper cleaning, soak it in cool or warm water with a very mild soap. Rinse the pack thoroughly with cool water. If soap residue remains in the fabric, it may create suds if exposed to water or sweat.

DO NOT wash your pack in a washing machine. Machine washing may damage the pack or affect the integrity of the fabric and fasteners, and will void the Got Your Bak™ Guarantee.

RESERVOIR CLEANING
The best way to care for your reservoir is to clean and dry it after every use, especially if you fill the reservoir with anything other than water. However, if a reservoir has not been cleaned after every use, and mold or discoloration develops:

  1. Use hot water and a CamelBak Cleaning Tablet. Or use 2 tablespoons of baking soda or bleach instead of CamelBak Cleaning Tab. Mix the solution inside your reservoir and elevate the reservoir above the tube and Big Bite Valve. Pinch the bite valve, allowing the solution to flow into the drink tube and fill the bite valve.
  2. Let the reservoir and cleaning solution sit in the reservoir and drink tube for about 30 minutes.
  3. Wash the reservoir with hot water and mild soap. Be sure to completely rinse away the cleaning solution in the reservoir and drink tube before using again. You can also use CamelBak brushes from our Cleaning Kit to scrub your reservoir and drink tube. Brushes are the best way to ensure you are scrubbing all of the areas of the reservoir clean.
  4. Once the reservoir is clean, be sure to air dry overnight so no moisture is trapped inside, which can cause mold to grow.

These steps will make your reservoir safe for use. If there are still spots left behind, these are permanent mold stains that may not be removable. However, your reservoir is still safe and usable after you’ve cleaned it.

Comments about CamelBak Agent™ - Discontinued:

Like all Camelbak packs, this one was designed beautifully from a marketing perspective and looks sweet in the store. The idea is great, build a pack geared toward free riders looking to carry lots of extra gear like pads and helmets without making the pack itself huge. To that end, the pack works.
The straps on the bottom hold a set of kneepads well, though they will get really muddy if it's wet out.
The extra gear flap is HUDGE compared with anything else on any Camelbak pack and to that end, it's a great improvement. It works well for stuffing pads and jackets into it.
Weirdly, this pack doesn't come with a hose clamp. The hose passes under a little webbing strap way up high on the shoulder, and that's it. Any kind of "free ride" or "enduro" riding and the hose is swinging in the wind behind your back!
The inner pack itself ain't that big though. Storage wise, it's about on par with a Mule. Like the mule, it has an alright amount of storage, but it's all situated on a very narrow platform. This means that two things happen when you try to stuff more things inside: 1) the load moves further and further from your back, making the pack less and less stable. 2) the load pushes more and more inward, toward the bladder and toward the rider. You better fill your reservoir first, because otherwise you'll never get it back inside if the pack is stuffed. Meanwhile, plan for some backpack yoga as you try to re-un-shape the back panel that now feels like a Yule Log on your back.
Lastly, all the "enduro" oriented straps make for a mess of a pack. They're 10x longer than necessary and just flop around all the time. The extra gear flap never really cinches down well if nothing is in it, which is annoying at the least, but at worst is a liability if you only have something small in there that could slip out in a crash or sitting on a chairlift.
Well, they discontinued it anyway. Better luck next time!

Comments about CamelBak Agent™ - Discontinued:

I bought the bag last summer in a local outdoor shop. It was love at first sight: I wasn't even looking for a bag, but after seeing it I simply had to buy it. I have no regrets whatsoever, despite the quite hefty price tag. Very unique looking, and unlike most other bags it does not wrinkle when empty, thanks to the foam padded front.

I'm using it almost every day as my general bag. Due to the overflow compartment it's great even for groceries. The bottom strap, which is originally for downhill armor, is quite handy for attaching bigger clothes, gaiters, or even sleeping bags while hiking. Or, for example, this winter I carried an emergency kit in the bottom strap during our hiking in the High Tatras.

The usefulness of the small pocket on the bottom right part of the bag cannot be overstated. I can easily operate its zipper and access it while the bag is on my back. Perfect for tissue papers, bicycle tool, energy bars, whatnot.

The material quality, workmanship, and durability all seem very good. Today I bought another Camelbak bag, the MULE, and its material feels way too thin compared to the Agent's. Though, the Agent is a bit on the heavy side for a pack of this size; but in my opinion it worth every gram.

The hydration system, naturally, works quite well (and I find it extremely helpful when biking in the summer); though the military style valve is a much better match for this bag (I replaced mine).

Downsides: I found the zippers too stiff for one-handed operation. This means that I usually have to hold the material (e.g. the phone pocket) with my other hand. Also, you have to be careful with the Velcro strap organizers (on the bottom of the harnesses), because they can damage delicate technical fabrics (damaged one of my North Face running shirts). Lastly, I think the bag would need a better clipping solution for the straw.

All in all, I think this bag would deserve to be much more popular than it is now. I really hope that Camelbak won't give up on this bag; I would be eager to see new versions of it.

Comments about CamelBak Agent™ - Discontinued:

I hike a lot of trails and do quite a bit of climbing and this pack has proven to be most elite! Extremely durable, I sometimes have to slide up against rocks and through crevices and still have yet to see any signs of wear and tear. Keeps water very cold and love that it came with an insulated hose. Would love to see a shoulder pocket with a little more stretch to fit today's big 5" phones but can't complain really because who knows how big phones are going to continue to get.

The only con would be if they ever removed this pack off the market.

Comments about CamelBak Agent™ - Discontinued:

I pick up the dark green version of this bag after my old faithful bag got ruined by a motor oil spill in the garage.

i needed one fast and did no research just picked the first one i like the looks of at the local bike shop. needless to say i was very pleased when i started using the back and figuring out all it's features.

two features that drew me to the bag in the store were the insulated drinking tube and ventilated back padding. both of these features work great and i'm way less sweaty after rides and that first taste of water isn't boiling hot when riding in 90°F + weather.

two other features i didn't notice at the store, but really like are the dedicated sunglass pouch and the small phone/mp3 pouch on the shoulder strap. the later of which is awesome, it's a tight fit for an iphone 5, but it fits in there along with a chapstick. the best part is that i can put the phone in upside down and listen to music without headphones pretty easily. even if you don't listen to music while riding/hiking, it's still a great place to keep you phone/camera for easy access for that perfect picture.

finally the other thing i like is that even though this bag isn't huge, it has a large mostly open pocket for cramming oversized things into. you can easily fit to 1 liter bottles of water for long rides all while still leaving space for normal gear.

i knocked off one star because i wish there were zippered pockets in the large compartment for bicycle tools/gear (mostly this is just a case of me missing my last bag's features) and even though i like the dark green, i wish it had some contrasting colors. the place i bought it from only had the green, but the purple and yellow ones are too much for my taste. still if you you like a mil-spec look the green is pretty great. i'll probably break up the green with a patch or two.
