PACK CLEANING
We recommend wiping your pack with a damp cloth to remove dirt. If the pack is extremely dirty and needs a deeper cleaning, soak it in cool or warm water with a very mild soap. Rinse the pack thoroughly with cool water. If soap residue remains in the fabric, it may create suds if exposed to water or sweat.

DO NOT wash your pack in a washing machine. Machine washing may damage the pack or affect the integrity of the fabric and fasteners, and will void the Got Your Bak™ Guarantee.

PODIUM® BOTTLE CLEANING
The Podium® Bottle is dishwasher-safe and easy to clean. Remove the cap assembly, making sure the Jet Valve™ lockout is open, and place it with the bottle on the top rack of your dishwasher. Do not disassemble small parts of the cap, simply place the whole cap into the washer. Disassembly of the cap could lead to leaks or product malfunction. For best results, we recommend avoiding high-heat settings such as 'sanitary clean' or 'heat boost' which may distort plastic components. We don’t recommend forcing a brush or other cleaning tool through the Jet Valve cross-slit (i.e. where you drink).

FAQ

I’m used to the CamelBak bite valve, where’s the bite valve on this bottle?
The Podium® Bottle and Podium® Chill are designed specifically for cycling, offering optimum, hassle-free hydration via an innovative feature called the CamelBak® Jet Valve™. Made from medical-grade silicone and designed to flow automatically when you squeeze the bottle, the Jet Valve vents pressure and seals shut automatically when you’re done. It’s simple—no biting involved. So say goodbye to yanking your old pop-top bottle open with your teeth and bashing it shut on your hip, as well as bothersome drips and leaks.

OK, I get the Jet Valve™, but do I still need to suck on the nozzle to drink?
It’s your choice. You can either put the nozzle between your lips, or just open your mouth and squirt. The Jet Valve™ opens automatically when you squeeze, then shuts automatically to prevent drips. Since there’s no pop-top valve to shut off, you can guide the nozzle into helmet vents easily without accidentally shutting off the valve.

Explain the lockout valve under the nozzle. Do I need to shut this off every time I drink?
No. The Jet Valve™ keeps your bottle sealed and drip-free during use. The rotary valve under the nozzle on the cap is actually a secondary lock-out. We recommend using the lock-out exclusively for storage, i.e. if you’re storing the bottle in a bike bag or trunk. Leave it open during rides or for easy access when you’re drinking from the bottle. You can also lock out your backup bottle on the bike to prevent any unexpected squirts from potholes or other big hits.

How does the Podium® Chill Bottle insulation work?
The Podium® Chill features a unique, low-profile double-wall construction with a layer of airtight, insulating foam. Compared to other insulated bike bottles that can be stiff or bulky (or both), the Chill bottle is lightweight, easy to squeeze, and fits a lot of water volume into a small space. That’s why we call it, “Cool without Compromise.”

Can I put sports drinks in the Podium® Bottle or Podium® Chill Bottle?
Absolutely. However, make sure to clean the bottle thoroughly after each use.

Can I use carbonated beverages?
Yes. The Jet Valve™ automatically vents pressure so that “fizz” will not cause pressure buildup. Please note, if the lockout is shut off, there will be pressure buildup, which isn’t dangerous, but could lead to unexpected spray when opened.

Can I put hot liquids in it?
No. However, warm beverages are OK, provided they’re not hot enough to burn your mouth. Extra-hot or boiling water can distort the plastic in the bottle, but warm tea in your Podium® Chill Bottle is a nice treat for a cold ride.

Is the bottle microwave-safe?
We don’t recommend heating the bottle in a microwave since contents can heat unevenly. We only recommend putting warm liquids in the Podium® and Podium® Chill Bottles.

Can I freeze the bottle?
You can freeze the bottle, but before you do, make sure that the bottle is only partially full. We recommend only 3/4 full to allow for expansion of the water as it freezes to ice. Place the bottle in the freezer right side up. Remember: you won’t be able to drink until components have thawed.

Poor belt

Comments about CamelBak 2012 Delaney Plus™:

Received this as a gift to use for my first half marathon. The issue is the belt on the one side that does NOT stay in place and always loosens up as I run. Very frustrating as I have to tighten it about 50 times during my run. The Velcro does not work to keep it tight. I have had to made my own modifications in an attempt to keep it tight. Please change the design!!! I love the storage and the gel flask.

Comments about CamelBak 2012 Delaney Plus™:

I received this as a gift in November 2012. I have only used this twice. The gel will not stay in its holder at all and I had to keep the sticky gel flask inside one of the pockets. I had a hard time keeping the belt around my waist. But after many attempts it stayed kind of. I like this belt because of the size of the pockets which is wonderful the flask the liquids is great and the bungee system is good. I wanted something for my half marathons. I didn't want to knock the gift horse in the mouth it was a great and thoughtful get however, It is frustrating that all of the components do not work

    Good design but needs tweeking

Comments about CamelBak 2012 Delaney Plus™:

My wife and I both bought these packs for trail running. We both liked the design and features for 1 to 3 hour runs. The waist belt is a nightmare. Neither one of us can get it to stay in place. On a two hour run, I adjusted (tightened) the pack at least 100 times! Brutal. The velcro strap system is supposed to minimize slippage but does a poor job. You can make the pack work, but you need to do your own modification. Better waist belt designs on the market for sure.

Comments about CamelBak 2012 Delaney Plus™:

I am about 5'10", 155lbs, and I cannot keep this belt on to save my life. I have used this about three times, have had nothing but problems, and I am done with it.

The first time I used it, the gel flask fell out about a mile into my run. There is no way to secure it, it just sits there (then it sits on the ground after it falls out). This belt is meant to be used when running, or other outdoor activity. It should be durable and rugged. The simple act of running should not be enough for the gel flask to fall out. Camelbak's customer service was nice enough to ship me another gel flask free of charge, no questions asked.

I took it out again on a 10 mile run and fought the entire time with the belt trying to keep it on. The plastic clips (clasps?) do not grip the belt AT ALL. In fact, there aren't even teeth for it to grip with. I dont know if this belt is defective or this is just the design of the belt, but it is useless. Without having my hands on the belt constantly, the belt will literally fall to the ground. This is no way to run.

Today was the last straw, I took it out for a 5 mile run, and had the same problem again. It doesn't stay tight, it is constantly falling off. I ended up taking it off, leaving it on the ground and picking it back up on the way back. All this "belt" is, is a distraction. Do not recommend, would not buy again.

I hope Camelbak takes a look at this review and redesigns this product.
